Crum House
I started working at the Crum property 6 years ago. The property is located right on the water in Dunedin and is a popular walking route at sunset. There was a basic landscape already done but I did some changes and added perennials and annuals to create a beautiful showcase garden. We had started to add more unusual plants as I got more accustomed to the location and the mini-environments on the property. Being right on the water creates a real challenge. The landscape contains native and Florida friendly shrubs and trees as well as seasonal flower displays and many pots around the decks and pool deck.
In September of 2024 Hurricane Helene came through and all of the work we had done was flooded with 2’ of salt water. We lost most of landscape except for some of the Palm Trees. We basically had to start over!!
From April- July of 2025, we replaced soil and dead plants, filled the beds with fresh soil and added plants that were tougher and able to withstand the storms. Unfortunately, there are very few species of plants that could tolerate 2’ of salt water. The landscape is filling in and getting more beautiful every day.
