The Florida 50 Essential Plants Card Deck - Zone 10A and 10B
Sale Price: $25.00 Original Price: $30.00

Free Shipping! These plants are primarily for Zones 10A and 10B. Don’t know your Zone? Click here.

These are the Florida 50 Essential Plants for Zone 10A and Zone 10B. There are 50 plant cards, including 12 Florida Natives, each containing one plant with a photo, essential information such as Zone, Sun/Shade, Size, Color and more. I wanted to create a tangible resource that is fun to use and makes designing easy. You can bring the cards out in the yard to visualize how the plants will look or you can lay them out in front of you when you draw a sketch. You can also use them to mix and match colors to see which you like the best. When you are done deciding which plants you will use, you can bring them into your local nursery and hand them to the salesperson and say, I want 3 of these and 2 of these etc and get exactly what you want since each card has the botanical name as well as common name.

Cards are grouped into categories, Shrubs, Perennials, Grasses, Vines, and Ground Cover, as well as Large, Medium and Small, making it easy to sort, plan, and design.

With just these 50 plants, you can confidently design your entire Florida landscape: foundation beds, border plantings, butterfly gardens, entryways, and patio areas. Every plant in the deck is proven to thrive in Florida’s sun, soil, and seasons, making this the perfect set for Zones 10A and 10B.

Each deck also includes access to downloadable resources that walk you through a complete landscape project from site prep to planting to finishing touches.

This is Florida Landscape Design in your pocket. I’m so excited to see what you create with them!

Sale Price: $6.00 Original Price: $8.00

This is a downloadable list of 50 Cold-Hardy Florida plants. Included in this are 17 Native Plants and the rest are Florida-Friendly Plants. They are primarily shrubs from small to large as well as some ground covers, grasses, perennials and vines*. They are arranged by alphabetical order by the common name. Also included is the Botanical name, Zone, Sun or Shade, Type of Plant and General Size. The list has been checked for invasiveness across several different sources.

This is how you should use this list:

  • Print out the list

  • Find your Zone and highlight all of the plants on the list that will grow in your Zone.

  • Look in your yard and see which plants are dead or extremely damaged and you want to remove. See if they are in sun, partial shade or shade.

  • Take the list to your local nursery (not box stores) and look at the plants and see which ones you like.

  • Check the sizes to ensure they will fit in the space and buy them. If you are looking to buy the Native Plants on the list, find a Native Plant nursery in your area.

* You will note that most of these plants are not tropicals. There is one, Firespike, which I am calling a perennial on this list. It will die down to the ground in a freeze and shoot up from the roots when the weather warms up. These shrubs on this list will comprise the ‘bones’ of your landscape- the permanent plants that you can rely on throughout the year. If you want to add tropicals you can put them in pots and bring them in or cover them but at least you KNOW that they will not make it through cold weather. Pick your battles!

This is a digital download. No physical product will be shipped. You will receive an email with access to the downloadable list.

  • “Vicki took all my ideas and brought them to life. Our lot was completely empty with no trees and just weeds - for 2.5 acres! She designed the whole garden from scratch, incorporating raised berms, rocks and paths. The garden is a riot of color, using natives, Florida-friendly plants and tropicals. The garden attracts wildlife, from bees and butterflies to bunnies and birds. I love hosting events in the garden and the feedback from my guests is always wonderful. I couldn’t be happier with the final space.”

    Sara B., Palm Harbor, FL

  • “‘How does your garden grow?’ Mine is beautiful, colorful, and lush! Even the birds and butterflies love it. It’s our oasis! We spend weekend mornings having coffee outside. Victoria’s Bloomers abides by the name: it’s blooming & attracting butterflies, birds, and smiles! Come see our garden!”
